When it comes to the best wineries Mornington Peninsula has to offer, Red Hill and Main Ridge (both Hinterland regions) are the places to visit. Make sure you include Myrtaceae, Eldridge Estate of Red Hill and Tuck’s on your wine tour itinerary. They all provide wonderful views, delicious food and wine tastings and are wheelchair accessible. If you’re a little further north, I’d recommend Barmah Park Vineyard as well.
You can find all your favourite wines in these Mornington Peninsula wineries and there are plenty of accommodation options based within the primary wine making regions. The CBD is only about an hour and a half away by car, depending on which wineries you’re looking to visit.
It may not have the reputation of the Hunter Valley or the Barossa, but the Mornington Peninsula is absolutely a contender for one of Australia’s best wine regions.
